Newly promoted senior vice presidents will lead the communications, information systems, design, finance and human resources departments
East Greenwich, RI (August 22, 2012) – Corvias Group, a privately-owned, vertically-integrated real estate solutions group, announced today the promotions of five East Greenwich-based employees to senior vice president. Previously holding vice president positions in the company’s military housing division, Laura Calenda, Jon Hood, Kerrie Iemma, David Rozen and Donna Sinnery will now oversee their respective departments for the parent company.
The promotions follow last month’s announcement by Picerne Military Housing, a pioneer and leader in the privatization, construction and management of U.S. military housing, to expand into the student housing market with the launch of a new parent company, Corvias Group, and a new student housing division, Corvias Campus Living.

Laura Calenda, was named senior vice president of communications and will oversee all marketing communications for Corvias Group and its’ divisions. Prior to joining Corvias Group, Calenda worked as assistant vice president of corporate communications at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI), where she developed and executed the company’s multi-channel communications strategy and served as the corporate spokesperson. She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America and Leadership Rhode Island.
Appointed as senior vice president of management information systems at Corvias Group, Jon Hood is now responsible for the overall development and implementation of information strategy for Corvias Group. Hood has held a variety of high-level technology-related positions, including serving as vice president of information technology at REIT Management and Research, an asset management company, where he led the IT team to support business expansion through the delivery of scalable information systems, enterprise technologies, and compliance initiatives. He was also a key player in the team that launched a REIT Management affiliate, Five Star Quality Care, a leader in the healthcare and senior living industry.
In her new role as senior vice president of design, Kerrie Iemma provides interior design support for all aspects of Corvias Group, including home design, neighborhood centers and clubhouses as well as model units and office space. Before joining Corvias Group, Iemma served present and prospective buyers of office furniture and furniture systems as an account executive at Office Concepts Inc., which helps its customers achieve office goals through providing workspace solutions and manufacturers.
David Rozen is responsible for the vision and oversight for all financial matters for Corvias Group and its divisions in his new role as senior vice president of finance. Rozen joined the company in 2004, and was previously in charge of all financial aspects of Picerne Military Housing’s 20,000 plus unit portfolio, including the $1.4 billion in debt outstanding and $700 million in invested capital. His extensive institutional housing background includes the procurement and acquisition of nearly 17,000 units, raising more than $1 billion in private placement and municipal financing, and multiple restructurings and workouts. He was recently named a winner of Providence Business News’ “40 Under Forty” award.
Donna Sinnery, as the new senior vice president of human resources, will oversee the human resources departments of both Picerne Military Housing and Corvias Campus Living. Prior to joining Corvias Group in 2010, Donna provided strategic leadership and management direction for Fidelity and State Street Corporation on a variety of global initiatives supporting the acquisition and management of talent. Additionally, she was the founder and president of Global Sourcing, Inc., an international search organization that supported the recruitment of talent across five continents, including more than 15 countries. Early in her career she was a member of the United States Air National Guard where she specialized in human relations.
