The Seymour Johnson AFB program includes the renovation and maintenance of 65 single family homes and 221 duplex homes. The partnership also developed a state-of-the-art community center, completed in August 2017. The expansive, 10,910-square-foot, community center includes a variety of exciting features for Seymour Johnson AFB residents, including an indoor fitness center, game room, teen room, toddler play room, and a multi-purpose room. In addition, the center is rich with amenities including an outdoor pool, sport court, volleyball court, and two age-specific playgrounds. Through collaboration with residents, the community center programming changed from the original design. In keeping with the base’s commitment to fitness, the community center offers a timed obstacle course for anyone over the age of 12. For toddlers, the community center provides a splash pool adjacent to the swimming pool. The project also includes a 4,507-square-foot annex building and a 1,568-square-foot youth center. In addition to the housing program, Corvias designed, implemented, and operates stormwater solutions for Seymour Johnson AFB that are EPA compliant and effectively reduce pollution from stormwater runoff through best management practices. Furthermore, Corvias initiated a solar program that deploys approximately 3MW of solar power on base, for which the Air Force will receive an estimated 84GWh in Renewable Energy Credits. The solar program will generate an estimated $1 million in lifetime savings, all of which will be reinvested back into the program to further support our partner and residents.
