Fort Liberty, NC (October 18, 2023) — Unaccompanied housing for single service members is a crucial component of military life. In the early days of the United States military, single service members typically lived in basic communal barracks on military installations. After World War II, many newer barracks were repurposed to better accommodate single service members, but they still lacked the comforts and amenities that are associated with modern military housing.

More recently, the military recognized the importance of providing on-post accommodations to support the readiness and well-being of a subset of soldiers who are E6 and above. This transition led to the development of modern unaccompanied housing facilities. At Fort Liberty, Randolph Pointe was born, housing single service members who were no longer eligible for the barracks.

Here, single service members have an opportunity to build friendships, share experiences and develop a network of peers who understand the unique challenges and demands of military life. The community maintains an occupancy rate of 93.8% and offers a variety of rental options to accommodate the distinctive needs of this population. Various amenities and social activities, creating a sense of belonging and connection among its residents, are also popular with residents.
