Corvias Campus Living Appoints Stephen Freeman as Vice President of Business Development

The company continues to build leadership team for its new student housing division with four new hires in the past three months

East Greenwich, RI (March 13, 2013) – Corvias Campus Living, the student housing division of Corvias Group, a privately-owned, vertically-integrated real estate solutions group, today announced Stephen Freeman as Vice President of Business Development.

“Stephen’s 20 years of experience in multifamily housing spans both higher education and military communities, which will allow him to be successful in working with our partners,” said Kurt Ehlers, managing director of Corvias Campus Living. “He has a vast level of knowledge about the communities we already serve, as well as our new markets, which will help tremendously as we design, plan, and construct facilities to best suit schools and their students’ housing needs.”

Prior to joining Corvias, Freeman served as the President of Marker Real Estate and Development, a private real estate consulting firm, and Vice President of Development at Place Properties, where he oversaw and managed requests for proposals and qualification efforts as well as identified and developed partnerships to expand collegiate and military focused communities throughout the eastern half of the U.S. He was instrumental in creating the military focused portfolio of Independence Place Apartments, as well as Pembroke Place and Durham Place Apartments, near the University of North Carolina, Pembroke and Duke University, respectively. Throughout his career, Freeman has been involved in the development and acquisition of more than $300 million of multifamily and commercial real estate properties.

Freeman graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in finance, and went on to earn a MBA in real estate, risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia. He has also completed all CCIM course requirements and achieved Real Estate Sales Licenses in Georgia and Maryland.
