Corvias Group CEO Named Finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Award

East Greenwich, RI (June 4, 2012) – John Picerne, president and CEO of Picerne Military Housing, a premier builder and manager of U.S. military housing, has been named a finalist in the highly prestigious Ernst & Young 2012 Entrepreneur Of The Year New England Program. The awards are given annually to entrepreneurs whose ingenuity and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures. Picerne is among 32 finalists selected from a pool of more than 1,700 submissions by entrepreneurs across the country.

Picerne founded Picerne Military Housing in 2001 to bring the highest quality housing and management services to service members at installations across the U.S. Since its founding, the company has worked closely with the military to build, renovate and manage 20,000 homes on seven military installations nationwide. The company pursues a continuous program of improvement and modernization at each installation.

The Foundation was recently recognized at the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama as a Winner of the first Joining Forces Community Challenge.

Picerne was also recently awarded the number one resident satisfaction ranking for portfolios with at least 10,000 homes based on the 2011 SatisFacts Annual Resident Survey. Picerne Military Housing has earned a superior rating from SatisFacts the past five years. The company has also earned the number one resident satisfaction ranking for portfolios with at least 10,000 homes four times.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards which were created in 1986. Every year Ernst & Young presents awards to more than 900 entrepreneurs in 140 cities in 50 countries. The New England winner from each category will be announced at a black tie gala on June 21, 2012 at the Marriott Copley Square in Boston.
