Join Corvias Foundation and Corvias to Support Red Sox Foundation’s Annual Run to Home Base

East Greenwich, RI (September 17, 2020) Corvias Foundation, a private foundation founded by Corvias CEO John Picerne to support education opportunities for military families, and Corvias, a long-term solutions and management partner to the U.S. military, municipalities, and colleges and universities, have joined together to give back in support of the Red Sox Foundation’s annual Run to Home Base event. Corvias Foundation and Corvias sponsored and participated in the very first Red Sox Run to Home Base and have continued to support it since, including organizing shadow runs with the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan. All donations will go to support veterans, service members and families of fallen service members who experience invisible wounds.

The 2020 Run to Home Base event, a 5K/9K race, will take place virtually on Saturday, Sept. 26 where team members can walk or run to achieve their fundraising goals. Those who would like to join the Corvias Foundation team may sign up here.

“We would like to thank everyone who has joined our team and donated to this worthy cause, and we encourage others to join us and participate in this great event,” said Maria Montalvo, Corvias Foundation executive director. “This year, fundraising has been significantly more difficult given the effects of the pandemic, and we want to contribute to the clinical care and support for Veterans and their families who are impacted by the invisible wounds of war.”

“Corvias team members are passionate about giving back,” said Christina Chase, Corvias community voice. “We choose to give in ways that have a long-term impact to positively influence the communities where we live and work. The Run to Home Base event is a wonderful example of how we can give back to the military community that we’re so proud to serve.”

To date, the Corvias Foundation team has raised around $37,000 and donations will be accepted through Sept. 26. Corvias Foundation and Corvias have each contributed $15,000 to help meet the $50,000 team fundraising goal.

Corvias Foundation has a history of partnering with the Red Sox Foundation and first became involved with the non-profit when they were planning their first Run to Home Base event in 2009. More information on the Red Sox Foundation can be found here.
