Noted infrastructure leader to address innovative technology partnerships to elevate in-home environments
WASHINGTON, D.C., (September 16, 2025) – Corvias, a trusted infrastructure and resiliency partner to the U.S. military and higher education institutions, today announced that Denise Hauck, President of its Department of Defense (DOD) Division, will join hundreds of leaders from industry, academia, politics to address critical issues for resilient buildings at the International WELL Building Institute Healthy Building Policy Summit. The event will take place on September 29, 2025, at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.

Hauck will join a "Investing in Health Pays Back: Lessons from the Field" panel discussion moderated by Whitney Austin Gray, SVP of Research at IWBI. The session will explore investments in health and enhanced business performance, and a case study on Corvias’ partnership with Vitacorps, which focuses on indoor wellness technologies that help military families address critical wellbeing issues
"More than a roof over one’s head, we see housing as platforms for resilience. With 85% of service members reporting fatigue, we partnered with Vitacorps to implement in-home upgrades to support better sleep and improve other factors that underpin health and wellbeing,” Hauck said. “When we create environments that truly support the people who live and work in them, we strengthen the foundation of readiness."
As part of the discussion, Hauck will present a case study demonstrating how Corvias’ Wellness at Home™ approach delivers measurable results. Enhancements at nearby Fort Meade, Md., resulted in pilot project homes achieving WELL for residential certification and delivered significant improvements, including:
-
- A 71.7% reduction in harmful PM2.5 air particulates in bedrooms and a 56.7% reduction in living rooms, which helps to reduce exposure to smoke, viruses and bacteria, and airborne fungus.
-
- Reduction in disinfection byproducts, heavy metals and inorganics, as well as a substantial reduction in organics/VOCs in drinking water and helping address “forever chemicals” such as PFAS.
- Resident satisfaction rates of 95% for air quality and 93% for water quality post-implementation.
The Corvias-Vitacorps partnership deploys targeted, point-of-use wellness technologies focusing on fundamental elements like air, water, light, and humidity. Since its introduction last year, the initiative has expanded from a pilot of 50 homes at a single installation to an ongoing rollout that will bring the technology to 4,500 homes across three installations.
The pilot program aligns with both the DOD’s Resilient and Healthy Defense Communities (RHDC) Strategy and the DOD Tenant Bill of Rights, which provides that military housing must meet applicable health and environmental standards; and is intended to further enhance the quality of the indoor environments in the homes that are part of the pilot program.
