Corvias, a national leader in developing, financing, and managing infrastructure assets for higher education partners, today announced positive results from its 2019 Corvias Student Housing Satisfaction Survey conducted across six college campuses within the University System of Georgia (USG).

The annual campus living survey has been conducted since 2015 following the start of Corvias’ partnership with USG which includes plans to design, build, renovate, manage, and maintain student housing in the first phase of an unprecedented public-private partnership, for student housing across a portfolio of nine campuses. The 2019 data illustrates increased satisfaction in nine of the ten total categories based on survey responses from students at six of the nine college campuses within the USG including the University of North Georgia, Georgia Southern University – Armstrong, College of Coastal Georgia, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Dalton State College and East Georgia State College.

“We want our residents to be happy with their accommodations and the level of service we provide, so each year we make it a priority to get their honest feedback to ensure we know what we’re doing right and where we can improve, said John Picerne, CEO and Founder of Corvias. “This year’s results support our increased efforts with residents in mind and I am thrilled with the improvements and level of satisfaction seen across these important higher education partners.”

Administered by Skyfactor Benchworks, a market research software company that specializes in student and academic affairs, the 2019 results showcase positive feedback from satisfied student residents from the six reporting campuses. Key findings include:

  • 83.2% of student respondents would recommend living on-campus to other students
  • 90.4% say they know how to submit a maintenance request
  • Nearly 75% say they are satisfied (moderately to very) with the maintenance response after submitting a request
  • More than 70% say they are satisfied (moderately to very) with the general maintenance and upkeep within residence halls
  • More than 80% are satisfied (moderately to very) with the professionalism of the maintenance and cleaning staff
  • More than half of student respondents say they plan to live on campus next year (55.8%)

The USG partnership leverages Corvias’ innovation and efficiencies to ensure all residents have access to affordable, safe, and sustainable housing. The partnership includes construction, operation, and maintenance of 3,753 new beds, as well as 6,195 existing beds, totaling over three million square feet, across all nine campuses. Each development program is tailored to the needs of each individual school, allowing them to adhere to their own strategic plan.

“Corvias is dedicated to its higher education partners and their students,” added Picerne. “We aim to provide top-quality service all year round and if and when there is room for improvement, we welcome the opportunity to make the necessary changes to ensure we are constantly improving and in a position to continue to raise the bar when it comes to meeting resident expectations.”
