Part-Time Work a Reality for Local Military Spouses

February 23, 2021

Ask any military spouse, and they will tell you that the struggle to find and keep a job is real. Frequent moves, outdated job skills, childcare, and licensing issues are just some of the reasons why it can be challenging for military spouses to find work. Military spouses also have to contend with their spouse’s schedule and are often the ones responsible for managing the household, which means juggling multiple schedules.

One option for military spouses who want to work is to consider a part-time job, which can be less stressful and more flexible than full-time employment. In a Forbes.com article, the research confirms that working part-time creates “higher feelings of balance and job satisfaction.” Plus, 44% of moms working part-time did not find it as challenging to be a good parent as 57% of full-time mothers according to a Pew Research poll. Plus the Journal of Family Psychology found part-time employed women measured better in health and stress areas.

Military spouses living in the Fort Bragg area now have a new opportunity for part-time work. For more than 18 years, Corvias Property Management has been committed to improving the quality of life for military families and now has ten part-time Leasing and Resident Associate positions available. The Leasing and Resident Associate schedule offers family-friendly work options between Monday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All positions are located on the Fort Bragg installation, making the commute simple for those who live on post.
